The Unsung Hero Award celebrates volunteers whose efforts have had a positive impact at their local sports clubs and across their local communities.
After the tragic death of police Sergeant and rugby coach, Matt Ratana, Rumsey Films teamed up with members of East Grinstead RFC to create a short film to be submitted to the BBC’s ‘Unsung Hero’ category at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards.
Matt was shortlisted for Unsung Hero Award on BBC Sports Personality Of The Year 2020. After a live public vote, Matt went on to win the award, and much of the footage used on the programme was Rumsey Films content.
